This hillclimb will be contested on exactly the same course as the historic Mt Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb – the toughest hillclimb in the world. This new addition is in response to the overwhelming popularity of the MWARBH and this year will benefit the Mt Washington Observatory and other non-profits. The intent of this second hillclimb is to satisfy the demand for bicycle racing on this hill and to raise money, but it will only be conducted in a way that will not hinder the Tin Mountain Conservation Center's ability to raise funds in the future through the annual Mt Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb held in August.  Auto Road will be open to the public from 12:30 pm until 6:00 pm.

The Mt. Washington Auto Road is excited to be a part of the Mount Washington Observatory's Seek the Peak Hike-A-Thon fundraiser.

Seek the Peak hike-a-thon is the largest annual fundraiser of the nonprofit Mount Washington Observatory, and New England’s premier hiking event. The Mt. Washington Auto Road is a proud sponsor of both the Observatory and Seek the Peak.

This year’s event will welcome as many as 500 hikers to the rocky trails of Mount Washington, each climbing in support of the legendary Mount Washington Observatory. For more information and to register, visit SeekthePeak.org.

In celebration of the event, which is co-sponsored by Subaru of America, we are proud to offer a special Subaru Owners' Appreciation Day on the Mt. Washington Auto Road. Come join us in celebrating the 149th birthday of the Mt. Washington Auto Road, the oldest man-made attraction in America. Vintage horse drawn and automotive stages, which have operated for the past 140+ years, will be on display.

Vehicles with a "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington" sticker attached prior to arrival will receive free passage up the Mt. Washington Auto Road.

Join us at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center when the cannon fires to signal the start of the annual mountain bike race. For 24 hours, riders will take on the racecourse for this challenging and grueling event. Spectators are encouraged to come cheer on the racers and enjoy the festivities under the event tent.

You may have seen these bicycle racers on TV challenging mountains in Europe, but they call this event the "TOUGHEST HILLCLIMB RACE IN THE WORLD!" 7.6 miles up the Mt. Washington Auto Road.
