Experience the sunrise from the top of Mt. Washington!
Three Sunrise Drives:
June 28
July 26
August 30
The Mt. Washington Auto Road will open early on three Sundays in 2009, on June 28, July 26 and August 30, allowing guests to drive themselves to the summit of Mt. Washington to view the sunrise from the highest peak in the Northeast. On June 28, the Auto Road will open at 3:30 AM, on July 26 at 4:00 am and at 4:30 AM on August 30, which will allow guests to arrive early enough to watch the sun come up over the Atlantic Ocean. Regular Drive Yourself rates and Vehicle Restrictions apply. From the success of last year’s events the Mt. Washington Auto Road recommends not waiting until the last minute to arrive as you may spend a few additional minutes at the Toll House due to traffic.
