Winter Tours Up Mt. Washington Now Open

Pinkham Notch, NH—SnowCoach tours on the Mt. Washington Auto Road are now available.

Thanks to this recent snowfall, the Mt. Washington Auto Road is now snow-covered and SnowCoach tours to treeline can begin. Winter brings a whole new set of sights and sounds to the Mount Washington Auto Road: the crisp mountain air, the crystal blue skies, the soft crunch of new snow, and the SnowCoach allows guests to experience winter on the mountain. It is a rare opportunity to view winter in a place very few travel.

SnowCoach tours are approximately 1¼ hour long and depart daily from December through March from Great Glen Trails base lodge at the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road on a first come, first served basis. Operating hours are approximately 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, depending on weather and snow conditions.

SnowCoach tours cost $45 for adults and $30 for children ages 5-12. Advance reservations are not available due to unpredictable weather and snow conditions.

Following their SnowCoach tour, guests are encouraged to take advantage of everything Great Glen Trails has to offer, including snow tubing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. With the Trails Total Ticket, guests can save up to 40% on an entire package. Great Glen Trails is currently open daily from 8:30am – 4:30pm.

SnowCoach tours operate daily, weather permitting. Please call 603.466.3988 for up-to-the-minute operating details.
